Each year, the European Centre for Space Law (E.C.S.L.), together with the International Institute of Space Law (I.I.S.L.), organises the European Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. The European Regional Round has been held annually since 1993, with teams participating from all parts of Europe.

The 2009 European Regional Round was held from Monday, 27 to Tuesday, 28 April 2009 at the University of Athens, Greece. The winner, University of Strathclyde (United Kingdom), will contest the World Finals to be held in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, in October 2009.
