Each year, the American Association of I.I.S.L. Members organises the North American Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition. The European Regional Round has been held annually since 1992 as the United States Round, with teams invited from Canada and Mexico for the first time in 2003.

In 2007, the team from George Washington University defeated the University of Queensland in the World Finals held in Hyderabad, India.

The 2008 North American Regional Round will be held at the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C., the United States, on Saturday, 4 April 2008. The winner will contest the World Finals to be held in Glasgow, the United Kingdom, in October 2008.
